Educational Exhibits

Children can explore their worlds through the exhibits at WOW! Kids can learn and play together in a museum that celebrates playful learning, utilizing early science skills, art, music, health, and practical life role-playing. Exhibits are designed to meet the STREAM curriculum and Colorado P-12 Academic Standards.

Embrace your creative side in the Art Room. Kids can create one-of-a-kind artworks with interactive activities and materials. Little artists can also play with bubbles, and explore light & shadow. Kids can dance in the yoga and dance studio, or climb aboard a pirate ship and lighthouse.

Located in Lafayette, the Museum is surrounded by a thriving community of local restaurants, shops, and parks. Families can support the Museum by purchasing an annual pass for unlimited admission for a year. The pass admits 2 adults and all children in the household. Families receiving public assistance such as SNAP/WIC, free or reduced school lunch, Section 8 housing, TANF, or Medicaid/CHP+ qualify for a discounted membership through our Play for All Initiative.

Outdoor Play Area

The museum has an outdoor play area that is great for little ones to get their wiggles out. They can climb and crawl through the different exhibits, or they can create with clay or paint. The museum also offers different educational programs and activities that are perfect for kids of all ages.

A recent grant from the Namaste Foundation and BrightView Landscapes has helped to bring a new outdoor garden play area to WOW! Children’s Museum in Lafayette. The new space will include learning zones for sensory experiences, horticulture exploration, and wellness, as well as a demonstration garden.

Other interactive exhibits at the museum include a space where kids can learn about money; an air and wind room; a community art studio; a toddler beach and sandbox; a water exhibit, and more. A large volume of research talks about how important childhood play is for healthy brain development. Special Events

Kids can also stretch their physical abilities in the yoga and dance studios or spend time exploring how bubbles work. The exhibits celebrate playful learning and are designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and discovery.

The museum’s Play for All Initiative supports families in need by offering discounted memberships. The annual family membership pass includes 2 adult admissions and unlimited visits for the entire household. Kids can bring friends for an additional $6 each. The museum offers birthday party packages as well. Reservations are required. Children are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. The museum uses nontoxic, hospital-grade cleaners to frequently clean all spaces.

Admission Prices

Kids who have an interest in art can spend hours creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces in the museum’s Arts Room. There are also exhibits that help them explore their physical abilities by climbing on the rock wall and crawling through a tunnel.

Families who want to save money on their admission can buy a family membership. The annual fee includes two free adult tickets and unlimited child admissions. The museum also offers a 10% discount on the food court and other purchases.

Families on a budget can visit the museum during Target-sponsored Friday evenings and enjoy free admission for all members and children under a year old. They can bring food and beverages into the first-floor lunch room or outside on the Milk Bottle Plaza when the weather is nice. The museum has a variety of vending machines that offer snacks, beverages, and other items for a nominal price.
